| The
most important choice you can make for your new skylight is the glass you put in it.
Skylight glazing accounts for up to 70% of the skylight product and controls the amount of
light and solar heat that enters a home. It also prevents the amount of heat that escapes.
Because of their usual application on an angle, skylights are susceptible to a phenomenon
called Sloped U-Value Degradation where severely limits the thermal performance of regular
insulated glass including Low E. U values, a measurement of a skylight's insulating performance, changes very little in sloped units in which a film (Heat Mirror™) breaks the airspace into two smaller compartments. |
